All event proceeds help sustain NILC’s work to ensure that low-income immigrants living in the U.S. can work without being exploited, support their families, and live with dignity. This includes a fight at the U.S. Supreme Court—in which NILC is playing a leadership role—to defend the most significant immigration policy changes achieved by the immigrants’ rights movement in decades. And the increasingly dangerous rhetoric regarding the role of immigrants and refugees in our society emerging from this year’s national elections could reshape the political environment in dramatic ways at both the federal and state levels. Through this event, we hope to raise much-needed resources so that NILC can continue working to defend fundamental rights and advance justice for everyone living in and contributing to our country—no matter their immigration or economic status.
